Jeep Announces the 2020 Gladiator
The 2020 model year is bringing with it an entirely new kind of midsize truck, the all-new Jeep Gladiator. The Jeep Gladiator promises not only to bring an utterly unique style to the table, but unmatched power when it comes to hauling and offroading too. The Gladiator is more than ready to prove that the wait has been worth it for the twenty-six years since Jeep's last midsize truck. Sure to be the new pinnacle of not only toughness but dependability as well, the Gladiator will be an excellent addition to the Jeep heritage with its off-road utility, open-air freedom, fuel-efficient powertrains, best-in-class 4x4 payload and towing, and onboard safety features that all come together to make something totally unprecedented.
Unique Defined
The Gladiator may be made up of new design elements, but that doesn't mean there's any mistaking it as anything but a Jeep. The Gladiator updates the iconic Jeep keystone grille by widening its grille slots and reconfiguring its top edge to swoop into the hood for not only improved aerodynamics but air intake as well. The square taillamps that are so traditional for the Jeep brand now bookend an easy-access tailgate designed to make the process of loading and unloading cargo easier than ever. The Gladiator's segment-exclusive open-air freedom comes from the premium Sunrider soft top, which comes with the added benefit of deadening wind noise. And for all those off-road purists out there, the Gladiator will offer a fold-down windshield so you can really get that wind in your face while you're driving all over the place.

Impressive Features
The Gladiator's announcement was unexpected to say the least, but its ability to combine versatility, features, style, and comfort with such ease is no less unexpected or impressive. The Gladiator features a horizontal dashboard that complements its cleanly sculpted center stack. The customizable LED screen, charging ports, and various other stack controls are easily reached and recognizable for both the driver and front-seat passenger, ensuring that either can adjust any setting they may desire. Upholstered in the driver's choice of either cloth or leather, the front seats have been designed with not only lumbar support but bolster as well. The rear seats are no less lacking, having been made from material that is just as comfortable and supportive as the front seats while adding segment-leading legroom as well as two USB and one 115-volt AC outlets.
Powerful Powertrains
Two impressive powertrains have been announced as part of the 2020 Jeep Gladiator lineup, further improving this vehicle's outlook with the addition of options that will tailor it to your needs. The Gladiator's standard engine will be the award-winning 3.5-liter Pentastar V6, which boasts an impressive horsepower that reaches 285 and torque ranging up to 260 pound-feet. The Pentastar comes with a six-speed manual transmission as standard equipment, but there is also an option for an eight-speed automatic transmission for those that don't care for manual. The other announced powertrain is slated to be a three-liter EcoDiesel V6 with horsepower that reaches 260 and torque that goes all the way to 442 pound-feet. The EcoDiesel engine will be equipped with an eight-speed automatic transmission that has been designed to handle higher torque outputs. These powertrain options, which are already impressive as they are, are further augmented by 33-inch offroading tires, up to 30 inches of possible water fording, Trac-Lok limited-slip differential, Command- and Rock-Trac 4x4 systems, and a segment-exclusive electronic sway-bar disconnect. These incredible features all come together with the powertrain options to give the Gladiator a best-in-class towing and payload capacities of 7,650 pounds and 1,600 pounds respectively.
