2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee vs Suabru Outback

It's the new model year, which means all the latest SUV's have come out! With so many different makes and models to choose from, it cannot be easy to know which one is best for you and your family. Fortunately, that's where we come in! This article compares two of the best SUVs out there in the 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee and the 2021 Subaru Outback! Both of these SUVs would make terrific additions to your driveway, but which one is the true standout? For the answer, we will cmpare these two amazing SUV and see which one comes out on top!

2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee Power & Handling

Power is the name of the game with the 2021 Grand Cherokee as there are four available engines. Coming standard is a 3.6-liter V6 that makes an impressive 295 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. Moving up to the Trailhawk, Overland, and Summit trim brings you an optional 5.7-liter V8 with 360 horsepower and 390 lb-ft of torque. But wait, there's more! The high-powered and performance-oriented SRT has a 6.4-liter V8 that revs up the horsepower to 470 and the torque to 475 lb-ft. Normally, this would be the king of the mountain if it weren't for the Trackhawk's amazing and supercharged 6.2-liter V8 that pulverized the pavement with 707 horsepower and 645 lb-ft of torque. These engines connect to an eight-speed automatic transmission and either rear or four-wheel-drive, except for the SRT or Trackhawk, which get a performance-oriented four-wheel-drive.

2020 SubaruOutbackPower & Handling

Only two engines are available for the 2021 Outback, though most trims will get a 2.5-liter four-cylinder that makes 182 horsepower and 176 lb-ft of torque. You won't see another engine until you get to the Onyx Edition XT, which has a turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine that gets you 260 horsepower and 277 lb-ft of torque. You would be forgiven if you thought the Outbacks engines were a tad underpowered, especially when you stack them up against the Grand Cherokee's engines. The good news is that both of these engines do come standard with all-wheel-drive and a continuously variable automatic transmission.

2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee Features & Design

Seven trims are available for the Jeep Grand Cherokee, and each comes with a ton of fun tech and luxury features. The base Laredo starts things off nicely with 18-inch wheels, rear parking sensors, keyless ignition and entry, dual-zone climate control, and a 7-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The Limited takes things a step further with a sunroof, 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot, auto-dimming mirrors, heated front seats, a power liftgate, and an 8.4-inch touchscreen. If you're looking for more off-road features, you're in luck! The Trailhawk comes with all-terrain tires, an electronically controlled limited-slip differential, underbody skid plates, off-road-tuned air suspension, all-terrain drive modes, and ventilated front seats. Higher trims of the Grand Cherokee give you more impressive luxury and tech such as xenon headlights, all-leather seating, a power-adjustable steering column, chrome exterior trim, Brembo brakes, a sport-tuned adaptive suspension, and black exterior trim.
