Here at Hendrick Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, we never want our customers to stress which is why we have created this comparison review. We narrowed it down to two of the most popular models, the 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee and the 2020 Chevrolet Equinox, and we're putting them to the test. Keep reading to find out what these SUVs have to offer and which one we recommend you drive home!

2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee Power & Handling

In the 2020 model year, the Grand Cherokee offers four engine options. We're going to start with the most powerful engine model. Under the hood of the Trackhawk, drivers will find a 6.2L supercharged V8 that cranks out 707 horsepower. The SRT trim level houses a 6.4L V8 that produces 475 horsepower. The third V8 engine, offered to multiple trim levels, is a 5.7L V8 that generates 360 horsepower. All three of these V8 engines are outfitted with standard four-wheel drive. The standard engine is a 3.6L V6 that produces 295 horsepower. This engine comes with rear-wheel drive but four-wheel drive is offered. An automatic eight-speed transmission is the match to all engines.

2020 Chevrolet Equinox Power & Handling

There are only two engines offered for the Equinox in the 2020 model year. The base engine is a 1.5L turbo four-cylinder that delivers 170 horsepower. Chevrolet pairs this engine with a 6-speaker sound system. The other engine option is a 2.0L turbo four-cylinder that delivers 252 horsepower. Chevrolet mates this engine with a 9-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard across all trims but all-wheel drive is offered for all trims except the L.

2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee Features & Design

Drivers can choose from seven Grand Cherokee trim levels. The base model starts the lineup off with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration, rear parking sensors, a 7-inch touchscreen with Uconnect, a 6-speaker sound system, dual-zone climate control, and a backup camera. The other trim levels add remote engine start, an 8.4-inch touchscreen, a power liftgate, dual-pane panoramic sunroof, noise-canceling technology, a premium Harman Kardon sound system, leather upholstery, and more. The Trailhawk trim level is geared for off-roading while the SRT and Trackhawk are ready to floor it with performance geared features.

2020 Chevrolet Equinox Features & Design

In the 2020 model year, the Equinox is offered in four trim levels. The base model is called the L and it comes with LED daytime running lights, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, keyless entry and ignition, a 6-speaker sound system, height-adjustable front seats, a 7-inch touchscreen, heated mirrors, and a six-speaker sound system. The other trims, the LS, LT, and Premier add satellite radio, rear privacy glass, heated front seats, a power liftgate, LED headlights, a power-adjustable driver's seat, xenon headlights, and more.

Conclusion:

The Chevrolet Equinox is a great SUV with a lot to offer but it just can't compete with the 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee.
