The 2019 Jeep Compass comes with a singular engine. Under the hood of every Compass, you will find a 2.4-liter inline-4 engine. The engine produces 180 horsepower and 175 lb-ft of torque. The Compass comes with either front-wheel or four-wheel-drive. The Sport and 4WD Latitude models can be paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission. The 2019 Kia Sportage comes standard with a 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine. The engine makes 181 horsepower and 175 lb-ft of torque. The Sportage offers an optional 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4 engine producing 240 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. Both engines come with a 6-speed automatic transmission. All versions of the Sportage offer either front-wheel or all-wheel-drive. You can tow up to 2,000 pounds with the Kia Sportage.

2019 Jeep Compass Features & Design

Jeep offers the 2019 Compass in four different trim levels the: Sport, Latitude, Limited, and Trailhawk. The base Sport model has a 7-inch touchscreen, a six-speaker sound system, and Bluetooth. The Latitude builds upon those features and adds a leather-wrapped steering wheel, upgraded cloth and simulated leather upholstery, and keyless ignition and entry. The luxurious Limited model upgrades to an 8.4-inch touchscreen, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, remote start, and leather upholstery. The off-road-ready Trailhawk model features red tow hooks, a matte-black hood accent, skid plates, a raised suspension, and off-road tires. Available features include a sunroof, a power liftgate, a premium Beats audio system, navigation, and an Advanced Safety package.

2019 Kia Sportage  Features & Design

The five-passenger 2019 Kia Sportage comes in LX, EX, and SX Turbo trim levels. The base LX comes with a 5-inch touchscreen, a six-speaker sound system, and Bluetooth. The Sportage EX adds heated front seats, a 7-inch touchscreen, leather upholstery, keyless ignition, and a rear USB port. Available packages for the EX include the EX Premium package, EX technology package, and the EX sport Appearance package. The top tier SX model comes equipped with a heated steering wheel, 8-inch touchscreen, navigation, and a sport-tuned suspension.

Conclusions

While both vehicles are excellent subcompact SUVs we think the 2019 Jeep Compass far surpasses the Kia Sportage. The 2019 Jeep Compass offers off-road-capability without sacrificing a high tech, comfortable, and luxurious interior.
